We look forward to seeing more posts and samples of your work.I have a D90. Any advantage to change I was told the only difference is the body material.
Thanks. Dont know if any of that matters to you, but there you have it. Love my D300. But it is old tech - same era tech as the D90 I believe. Nikon D300 Vs D300S Upgrade My D300I was going to upgrade my D300 with a dealeo on a D300s - Decided old tech should be replaced with new tech or stand pat.and I didnt need a spare APS-C crop camera. Instead Ill now save for a D500 and at this point in no huge hurry. I still think the D90 is a fine camera, for 80 of what I shoot it would probably give the same results as my D300. I like them both a lot and would never part with the D90 even though they have the same sensor. Nikon D300 Vs D300S Professional Rig ComparedD300 with battery grip is a huge monster semi-professional rig compared to the D90. Nikon D300 Vs D300S Manual Effort OnIm no expert on in-camera lens distortion correction but I think the D90 does it but requires manual effort on each individual image. I use the D90 when Im in a hurry to grab a camera, the D300 when I want to fool around with a million options. So far the newer cameras at their crazy Nikon prices have not moved me. My cousin likes his D7200 and I borrowed it for a day and did not feel any need to upgrade. Theres still lots of comprehensive reviews on both out there on the internet - those by Thom are very wordy but useful. Try this: Nikon D90 vs Nikon D300S And get the S version for much improved handling features and button assignment and placing. D300s would be a better alternative, and since the only difference between them is video and slightly better dynamic range. It would just be a good way to step away from the D90 into a more professional body. The D300 is also not bad, but I feel the D90 slightly out edges the D300 in IQ. Please do not assume we know whats in your camera bag, I left my magic mind reading hat at the repair shop because it does not work past my computer screen. Believe Ill save my pennies for a D500 upgrade and keep the D90. The D300 is only one year later than the D90, but there are quite a few differences. ![]() An old D70S had shutter lag of 116 ms. I dunno what the 200ms business is The D300 is a very nice camera, but it is old technology now, esp regarding high ISO performance and megapixels.
